Wicker/seagrass/straw basket. Size – 10 inches high, 10 inches wide at the top.
Carefully hand woven by talented craftsmen/women of Northern Sri Lanka. Weaving these baskets is there livelihood. They first collect the natural seagrass/wicker from swamps/wilderness, cut and dry them, and then proceed to weave using a pre-made block to get the shape needed.
These wicker/seagrass baskets are very trendy at the moment in home decor and they have a way of adding a very cozy, homely, heart-felt touch to any space. Furthermore, made completely with natural material, it is as environmentally friendly as it gets.

The baskets need to stay dry. If water seeps through to the basket just turn it around and sun dry. When watering a plant kept in these baskets, add only the right amount of water and make sure there is a dish underneath the pot to collect any additional water.
